To cap off what has been a crazy season of football, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs by a score of 31-9. This was quarterback Tom Brady’s record 7th Super Bowl victory, more than any player or franchise in the history of the sport. This win firmly solidifies him as the greatest quarterback and player in National Football League history. KC QB Patrick Mahomes appeared to struggle based on his subpar stat line that saw him throw for under 250 yards, no touchdowns and an interception, but it was in fact a lackluster team performance that saw his squad fail to repeat as champions. Mahomes was calculated to have run nearly 500 yards just behind the line of scrimmage alone, being constantly pressured by Buccaneers defenders like Shaq Barrett, Jason Pierre-Paul, Lavonte David, and Ndamukong Suh. This year’s halftime show was performed by none other than The Weeknd, who delivered a solid performance despite the odds stacked against him with issues of social distancing and COVID prevention. While the NFL season was a bit rocky and perilous due to COVID-19, it was exciting to see the big game at home with family and watch history be made on the field.
