On Friday, September 6th, the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy hosted its annual student activities fair. This student activities fair is an opportunity for over forty clubs at UDJ to attract new members and build some momentum going into each year. Mr. Nicholas Hilden, the dean of student activities, runs the event and has nothing but positive things to say, “honestly it’s one of my top five things to do each year,” adding, “it’s a great opportunity for students to showcase their passions to one another”.
Walking into the main gym, it’s evident that there is something for everyone to participate in at the school. A plethora of clubs adorn the gym as students walk around, ranging from Outdoor Club and Hiking Club to Business Club, and Real Estate Club. When asked for his thoughts about the event during the set–up period, Real Estate club leader John Draper ’25 said, “I really enjoy getting my club some accessibility and viewership.” Once the fair started and students and faculty began piling in, World Languages teacher Mr. John Feeney said, “The club fair provides a lot of diversity, and over the years as I’ve seen it, it evolved into something amazing.” The student activities fair was enjoyed by all, garnering many club sign-ups for even greater future experiences.
