Funny, kind, and hardworking are just a few words that come to mind about University of Detroit Jesuit’s new administrative assistant Ms. Jenna Tolbert bringing good vibes and energy everywhere she goes. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, she attended Wayne State University and worked in a non-emergency call center at the 12th precinct station in Detroit. “I went to a catholic high school, and I felt like this school [UDJ] aligned with my beliefs” Tolbert commented upon accepting the position at U of D Jesuit.
Ms. Tolbert will never forget Ms. Evans, the greatest art teacher that she ever had, but many of her days in high school she would often be seen in the library. Whenever she needed to be productive, she would go to the library. Ms. Tolbert loved it so much that she even thought if she wasn’t an administrative assistant, she’d be a librarian. She loves the calm and quietness of space, and it forces her to stay focused and accomplish an task at hand.
She revealed that her favorite shows are various seasons of The Real Housewives franchise. Tolbert is also a fanatic for rap and pop music and her favorite songs come from when the two genres are seamlessly blended. Her favorite artist being Flo Milli and she is always perfectly reciting the song “Never Lose Me” no matter where she hears it.
In her spare time, she’s taken up knitting as a talent in more recent years. She smiles faintly reminiscing as she explains knitting is “something to do” and “it’s relaxing to me.” She loves the comfort of her own home and binge watching, American Dad. UDJ is so grateful to add Ms. Jenna Tolbert to the staff, and will certainly help usher in a new and exciting era at U of D Jesuit.
