Last night, in the first snow game of the 2024-2025 NFL season, the spiraling 2-8 Cleveland Browns hosted the 8-2 Pittsburgh Steelers. Russell Wilson and the Steelers were coming off a shocking divisional win over the Baltimore Ravens, and they were beginning to enter into the conversation of legitimate Super Bowl contenders. This Thursday, however, the Steelers doubters who never wavered were proven right. The Browns dealt the Steelers a shock defeat in Cleveland, 24-19, halting the Steelers’ momentum. Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who came into this week as the NFL Coach of the Year favorite, plummeted his odds with some questionable late-game decisions. His notorious clock management issues continued when he burned a second-half timeout with the clock already stopped. He has faced these timeout woes countless times in his career, and if these issues are not cleaned up, the Steelers could lose to anyone. There are many questions to be answered about Pittsburgh if they intend to be Super Bowl contenders this February.
