Essentials, Denim Tears, and now 2800 Reasons. Essentials and Denim Tears are popular brands around the fashion community, but what exactly is 2800 Reasons? Although the brand may be unknown to many, it is currently experiencing a rise in popularity in metro Detroit. University of Detroit Jesuit senior Langston Little is the founder of the brand, also known Curator of 2800 Reasons. Langston has always been a creative individual, and his love for fashion started at an early age. He first became a sneakerhead in elementary school, being inspired by his older brother and when he got his first pair of Jordans. His brother has been his fashion inspiration ever since. Langston first started the concept of 2800 Reasons during his freshman year; he would always talk about his brand idea to friends and family. To many, the brand idea was a joke and simply part of Langston’s “yap” sessions, which he has been known to do. Dealing with laughter from everyone, Langston became discouraged from even creating his own brand.
The idea fizzled out until midway through his sophomore year, when Langston took a large step in his brand development. He created a social media page for 2800 Reasons, reminding family and friends that he was indeed serious about creating his brand. “I was always serious about the brand, and it was finally time to take the next step.” There were times when 2800 Reasons had to take a step back because of Langston’s job and schoolwork. Although having major setbacks, he was still able to sketch out some of the brand’s first pieces of clothing. The early designs were created during the summer of 2024 when Langston was soon to begin his junior year of high school. Each day, his brand gained more attention. The hype was not only at U of D but also at various high schools around southeast Michigan. His ideal target for the brand was high school-age kids, specifically in the metro Detroit area.
Junior year is the most important year of High school, so balancing a brand, a job, and schoolwork was going to be a tall task for Langston. The original release date of the clothing had to be delayed because of his tight schedule. Some friends of Langston began to lose faith, “You’re never going to drop the clothes,” and they began to lose hope for 2800 Reasons. “I felt like everyone was beginning to give up on me.” Langston’s brand idea began to wither before his own eyes, losing the support he had just months ago. People struggled to understand his tight schedule and the delays of the full brand release. Only a few people knew that Langston’s work was the only way to fund his brand and to start it up.
Throughout his junior year, the brand was silent, and it was a mere thought. Langston was repeatedly asked about the status of the brand, but he could only say, “It’s on the way soon.” The difficulty of starting a brand, focusing on school, and having a job is something few people could imagine. Kids throughout metro Detroit were surprised when 2800 Reasons released its first design to the public eye via Instagram. The hype that once disappeared roared back into the public eye, and the release of 2800 Reasons was on the horizon. Over the summer of 2025, the brand posted various advertisements on social media platforms, including TikTok and Instagram. Each video gained more views than the prior, and the 2800 Reasons hype was real. At that time there was only one created and he needed many more to be able to make a profit. The clothes were created in a factory in China, and Langston remained in contact with his assistant in China. The two would FaceTime every week about the progress of the clothing. It costs approximately 2000$ to have the hoodies created in a bulk order. The order took almost a month to arrive from China. On August 31st, 2025, 2800 Reasons was officially released as an official brand, a story of resilience and proving the doubters wrong. Langston Little, a 17-year-old brand owner, created 2800 Reasons, the brand of the future. Starting off as just an idea, turning into a simple sketch, and now a brand that is worn throughout metro Detroit.
