Sam Machado ’25 is a Senior at U of D Jesuit High School and Academy, and the head Editor for the Editorial Section of the Cub News. Sam grew up in a Colombian immigrant family, and currently resides in Southfield, Michigan. He is fluent in both English and Spanish and is currently learning Chinese through U of D’s Honors curriculum. His main academic interests include political science, international relations, sociology, law, and journalism. He is also on the Executive Board on U of D’s Model UN team, and also takes part in other after-school activities such as Cross Country, Politics Club, Philosophy Club, Quiz Bowl, and more. He mainly likes to write about domestic as well as international political affairs. Outside of school, Sam enjoys music, traveling, video games, and spending quality time with family and friends.
