Almost two decades after the “Chosen One” stepped foot into the NBA, it seems as though the great shadow cast by himself and other legends like him, might finally be fading. In year 19 however, LeBron James, as per usual, seems to be defying time itself and performing in some instances better than that of his prime physical self. James is currently leading the league in scoring at 29 points per game, the 3rd highest he’s averaged over his 19-year career so far. That along with 6 assists and 8 rebounds a night has many fans wondering if and when the King will slow down. These current stats surpass all but one of his previous 4 MVP seasons. This has many LeBron fanatics like Marcus Fields ‘22 wondering why the star has been left out of a majority of MVP discussions for this season. This can partially be attributed to the fact that his Lakers are currently sitting at the 9th seed in the west over 5 games behind the Clippers for the 8th seed. With only 14 games left in the NBA season, their assured playoff berth is virtually gone. Now the attention turns to the play-in tournament. Can LeBron will his team to the playoffs once again?
