In the spring of 2024, the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy was searching for a school nurse who could show dignity and compassion while dealing with students. U of D decided to employ Rene Kubiak as the new school nurse. Kubiak is a registered nurse and a mechanical engineer with much expertise who is ready to do whatever it takes to strengthen The High.
Rene Kubiak was raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and went to Lincoln High School. After graduating high school, Kubiak attended Michigan State to earn her Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical Enginering, Oakland University to earn her Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, and finally, University of Detroit Mercy to earn her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.
Before U of D Jesuit, Kubiak has been a nurse in the ER, at the health department and at a women’s clinic. She worked as a camp nurse as well in 2017 and that brought her to school nursing. Kubiak explained, “I love that I can use my skills and talents in schools and to help make a difference in the health of our young adolescents.”
Rene Kubiak is ready to assist U of D Jesuit and wants to ensure everybody feels welcomed around her no matter what complications they need. She wants to do her best as a nurse so students stay healthy and positive throughout the school year. Kubiak is a very friendly, caring, and organized nurse at U of D and wants to see greatness out of the students.
