Umair Ahmed:
September 25th Brody and I were down at Red Run for the annual Mercy Homecoming, and we had the opportunity to try their food. Red Run is a country club that has a lot to offer, with a swimming pool, a golf course, a sit-down bar, and a dining hall where we tried their food on.
Lucky for us and our famished selves, we were able to enjoy a nice buffet provided by Red Run This included a make your own salad, some delicious creamy mashed potatoes, grilled chicken with some cheese on top, and cooked salmon. Not only was the salad delicious, but everything was so vibrant and fresh that it stood out on our plates. The chicken was not undercooked or dry and was cooked to perfection. Combining the chicken with the salad was a fantastic choice by Max Diaz as he claims, “it is one of the best salads that I have ever eaten”. The salmon was something that I had no clue what to expect because I had never tried cooked salmon. At first going into the salmon seemed a bit tough. But as soon as I bit into it, all the flavors blended beautifully together, and it melted and shredded immediately in my mouth. This was one of the most interesting foods experiences I have had, and I was not disappointed. Overall, the buffet at Red Run had me adequately surprised as to how good it was and me and Brody thoroughly enjoyed the food. We would have to rate this food an eight out of ten!
Brody Rukenbrod:
Red Run is not only a great country club, but an excellent golf course as well. This course has the greenest fairways, whitest bunkers, and purest greens. This 18-hole course is one of the nicest courses I’ve been on. Red Run gets down to all the details: The tee boxes were perfect, the golf carts were red with red stitching, even the large flower bed of white and red roses. This golf course is very extravagant. The golf carts not only have a built in GPS systems so you don’t get lost around this giant course, but also have built in speaker and Bluetooth systems so you can blast your favorite jams while swinging.
Red Run is a spectacular place. This country club also has a pool and a competitive swim team. Growing up in Royal Oak, I used to swim at Red Run nearly every day during my childhood summers. I used to swim for their team a while back and the coaching and staff are very respectable.
This country club also hosts several year-round events. There are numerous Club events for both adults and families. This includes Halloween, Easter, and Christmas parties. There’s a Mother’s Day brunch and a host of dates including poolside-evenings out, an annual “Wild Game” dinner and a winter comedy show. The Fourth of July fireworks are a Royal Oak tradition, with a live band, rock climbing, kid games, great food and drink and the best view of the fireworks possible. These year-round events on top of their spectacular golf course and dining, makes Red Run truly one of a kind.
