There are plenty of cubs at U of D, more than most people are aware of. In this article, I wanted to highlight the business club for people who may not know what it is about. Business club is a place where you can learn about topics such as the stock market, how to make your money work for you, and the secrets of financial success. It is a club run by Chris Chuoeiry and Chris Rupp every Tuesday in room S-122. When asked why people should check out the business club Chris Chuoeiry said, “it’s a welcoming environment to learn about different fields of business, make friends, and have fun through business-related competitions that teach about real-world principles that apply to business and finance.” The business club also teaches you the basics of stock trading as well as less-understood trading methods. One of the ways this is done is through Investopedia, a stock-simulating website where you invest in stocks in real-time with the market.
Regardless of that there are some misconceptions about the club that president Chris Chuoeiry wanted to clear up, “some misconceptions are that we don’t do much in the club, but we have multiple field trips and activities planned and topics set in place to cover throughout the year to teach about the various fields of business.”
Many students are interested in studying business in college so why not get a head start and find out if it is for you. Even if you do not plan on studying business or something similar to that in college it is still a great thing to learn about because who doesn’t like money so why not learn how to make more.
